I Wanna be #Blessed

Don’t we all want to be blessed?! Blessed in our finances, our passions, our dreams. Blessed at our jobs, with our friends, with our relationships, and with amazing opportunities. Blessed in the waiting. I’ve always wanted that! Guess what, God wants that for you too! He wants to give you good gifts and bless you in all areas of your life.

“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!”

Matthew 7:11

It’s true, God knows how to give us good gifts! He knows exactly what we need when we need it. We can even be blessed in seasons of waiting. But, what if you feel like you aren’t seeing God’s blessing or provisions in your life? What if there is no “fruit”? Is it us or is it God? If you want me to be truthful with you, it’s usually us. We are the ones that can hinder the blessings and gifts that God wants to give us. You see, when we accept Jesus into our heart and lives, we are not supposed to live the same as we once did (like the world). We are supposed to be renewed in Christ, walking upright in righteousness. When we aren’t seeing blessings in our lives and hearing the Lord, it’s usually because we stepped off the path of righteousness.

Picture it this way: You are going on a walk with God. The further you walk with Him, the better it gets. There are times in our lives though where we become distracted, so we stop walking with Him. Instead we turn around and start to walk backwards or we venture off on a side paths by ourselves. God is still in the same spot on that path though, waiting for us to come back and continue walking forward in the life He wants for us.

God never moves, we are the ones who move away from Him. When we spiritually move away from Jesus and start living the way our flesh wants, we are hindering ourselves from hearing Him. When we cannot hear Jesus in our daily lives, how can we be blessed by Him? In order to receive all that God has in store for us, we need to be following Jesus wholeheartedly, listening to His commands and obeying His word. All that He asks of us is to protect us; He has our best interest at heart.

So, if you truly cannot see Gods hand in your life and cannot hear him, be honest with yourself about the way you are living your daily life.  Does it align with His word?  Are you walking in Christ’s footsteps?  If not, it’s time to reevaluate!  Spend time with God, ask Him to show you what areas of your life need some spiffing up, and do it! God’s grace never runs out and He will reveal what is needed if you ask Him. God has a place and a life of blessing prepared for you; it’s paid for and it’s yours already. Even though you don’t earn your blessings, they are found on the path that God wants you to walk.

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.”

Psalm 84:11
