We are a community of women who thrive on intentional friendships, crave travel, love having fun, and first and foremost love Jesus. You are not designed to live this life alone. You are designed to have healthy relationships, so you can thrive in this life! Journeying Zion is a place that connects you with other women who will build you up, encourage you, and point you towards Jesus! So, come join us! Let's start journeying together.
This space was created so you can have friendships with depth, grace, and intentionality! It will give you sisters you can rely on who want to dive deep into what God has for them. There will be resources for you to deepen your faith while growing with other women like you. It will also give you the tools to grow into the healthy woman you are created to be.
Throughout my life there has always been a gap between just having people to hang out with and true friends who stay for life. For years I didn’t have a solid group of friends who wanted to be intentional, have fun, and grow in the Lord like I did. I was so tired of not having friends in my life who had the desire to invest in an authentic friendship. I was lonely. I wanted some girls to rely on and go on adventures with!
I’ve found there are many churches that do not have consistent young adult programs. Because of a lack of community at my own church, I actually ended up leaving and didn’t go for a couple of years. When entering college, there are also so many gals who also move away from their home town and no longer have the community they once did. My goal is to never let you go without life-giving community wherever you journey!
How it Started
- I’m an animal lover at heart! Marine life is my favorite.
- I’m passionate about sustainability and conservation.
- My husband and I were in a long distance relationship for over 4 years before we got married. Crazy!
- I have an Aussie named, Amber. She’s my fur BFF.
A bit about me...
Hey girl! I'm Carrissa, the creator of Journeying Zion. I am so excited to be able to share this community with you! For years I have wanted to help you deepen your faith and teach you the freedom you have in Christ! I want to mentor, encourage you, and help you build a close relationship with the Holy Spirit. I also absolutely love to travel and get outdoors! And I want to do that with you!
After much prayer for the name, I landed on Journeying Zion.
This community is all about having a relationship with Jesus with authentic friends walking by your side. Our relationship with Jesus is a lifelong journey. We aren’t designed to journey by ourselves. The goal in our journey together is to always be in Zion - the place where Jesus dwells.
Throughout the Bible Mount Zion is mentioned. It is the mountain of grace. Mount Zion is the place where God dwells and His daughters reside. What a better place to journey together than Zion!
22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant...
Why Zion?
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised
in the city of our God!
His holy mountain, 2 beautiful in elevation,
is the joy of all the earth,
Mount Zion, in the far north,
the city of the great King.
3 Within her citadels God
has made himself known as a fortress.
4 For behold, the kings assembled;
they came on together.
5 As soon as they saw it, they were astounded;
they were in panic; they took to flight.
6 Trembling took hold of them there,
anguish as of a woman in labor.
7 By the east wind you shattered
the ships of Tarshish.
He will guide us forever.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen
in the city of the Lord of hosts,
in the city of our God,
which God will establish forever.
9 We have thought on your steadfast love, O God,
in the midst of your temple.
10 As your name, O God,
so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth.
Your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11 Let Mount Zion be glad!
Let the daughters of Judah rejoice
because of your judgments!
12 Walk about Zion, go around her,
number her towers,
13 consider well her ramparts,
go through her citadels,
that you may tell the next generation
14 that this is God,
our God forever and ever.
He will guide us forever.
